Professional Clothing for Working Mothers
Many jobseekers who seek assistance from Beyond
Shelter's Employment Services Department are in critical need of professional
attire for their interviews and employment. Please note all clothing
should be clean and in good-to-excellent condition. New clothing is
preferred.
Basic Household Supplies
Newly housed families frequently lack the funds
to purchase basic household necessities, such as appliances, curtains,
dishes, pots and pans, bed linens, towels, furniture (especially cribs
and beds), detergent and cleaning supplies. For more information on

Infant Furnishings, Equipment & Supplies
A great percentage of families who participate
in Beyond Shelter's Housing First Program are single-parent, female-headed
households. Many are in critical need of baby supplies, such as diapers,
formula, baby clothes, cots, bedding, strollers, baby lotion and wipes.
Office & Computer Equipment
Beyond Shelter is always in need of office furniture
and furnishings, computer equipment etc., to accommodate our rapid growth
and to assist educating young children in needy households.
Holiday Toy Drive
Each year, Beyond Shelter - Australia has a Holiday
Toy Drive to collect new and unwrapped toys and gifts for the homeless
children and teenagers that we serve. The toys and gifts that we collect
are distributed to the parents. The parents wrap the gifts themselves
and present them to their children on Christmas. The children are never
told that the presents come from Beyond Shelter - Australia - they think
that their parents bought them these gifts. In this way, dignity is
restored to the parents and the children get to open wonderful gifts
on Christmas!
